Position Summary: Paints walls, equipment, buildings, bridges, and other structural surfaces using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.

Primary Responsibilities:
– Cover surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape to protect surfaces during painting
– Select and mix coating additives to thin or promote drying and adhesion
– Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers
– Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats
– Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines
– Remove fixtures prior to painting
– Erect scaffolding and swing stage, or set up ladders to work above ground level
– Remove old paint from surfaces using paint removers or sandblasters
– Calculate amounts of required materials and estimate costs
– Mix and match colors of paint, stain, or varnish

Qualifications: Minimum 4 years industrial construction/maintenance industry experience. NCCER Certified Plus.
