Job Description

Ryerson Concrete is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Epoxy Flooring, Concrete Coating, and Polishing Specialist to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves surface preparation, application, and finishing of epoxy and other specialty concrete coatings for both residential and commercial projects. We are looking for a reliable professional who takes pride in craftsmanship and consistently delivers high-quality work that exceeds client expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

– Prepare concrete surfaces using grinders, shot blasters, and other surface prep equipment

– Repair cracks, joints, and spalls as necessary before coating application

– Mix and apply a variety of coating systems, including epoxy, urethane, polyaspartic, and specialty finishes

– Follow manufacturer specifications for product ratios, thickness, and curing times

– Apply decorative finishes such as flake, quartz, metallic, and anti-slip additives

– Use application tools such as rollers, squeegees, trowels, and sprayers

– Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site in accordance with OSHA and company safety standards

– Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and clients

– Inspect and touch-up finished work to ensure quality and durability

– Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly, performing routine care and maintenance

 

Qualifications:

– 2+ years of experience in epoxy flooring or concrete coating applications preferred

– Familiarity with polishing equipment (grinders, burnishers, vacuums)

– Strong understanding of surface preparation, sealing, and finishing techniques

– Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various conditions

– Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and efficiently

– Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic

– Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

– Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

– Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or travel based on project needs

 

Preferred (Not Required):

– Experience with decorative coatings (metallics, flakes, etc.)

– Knowledge of moisture mitigation techniques

– OSHA 10 or 30 certification

– Bilingual (English/Spanish)
