California Epoxy Training in 2026: Courses From Sacramento to LA

Last updated: October 12, 2026

You can learn a lot about epoxy floors from videos, but you can’t learn to read a slab, time a pour or fix a bad batch from your couch. For that you need hands-on reps with someone who has done hundreds of floors. That is what in-person epoxy training events are for.

California has a good mix of options this fall, from a quick one-day class in Anaheim to manufacturer certification in Sacramento and a full 5-day course in the LA area. Whether you are just starting out or want to become an approved installer for a major brand, here is what is coming up:

Upcoming Epoxy Training in California

Sherwin-Williams High Performance Flooring Applicator Training Program

  • Dates: October 20-22, 2026 and November 10-12, 2026
  • Location: Sacramento
  • Investment: Not listed. Request a spot through the Sherwin-Williams training page and a rep will follow up with pricing.

Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is the path to becoming an approved Sherwin-Williams flooring contractor, which can open doors to commercial and industrial work that asks for certified installers. The program starts with the basics of concrete: its properties, how to assess its condition and how to prep it properly. From there it covers sealers, primers, topcoats, application steps and quality control.

It is built around hands-on demos and real job scenarios, with plenty of room for questions. It works for new installers and for experienced contractors who want the certification. One thing to know: sending a request does not guarantee a seat, since a Sherwin-Williams rep reviews each one and confirms availability.

E2U Epoxy Flooring Training Class

  • Date: November 20, 2026
  • Location: Anaheim
  • Investment: $150

Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is the lowest-cost way to get started in California. E2U is a manufacturer with full-time chemists on staff, so the instructors know their products inside and out. The class covers surface prep, including crack, joint and spall repair, grinding, mixing ratios, and flake, metallic and solid color systems, plus broadcasting, scraping and topcoats. It also covers troubleshooting common job site problems and how to sell and market your work.

It is a good fit for beginners, DIYers and contractors who want to try epoxy before committing to a longer course. Company teams are welcome too.

Xtreme Polishing Systems 5-Day Epoxy Flooring Certification

  • Dates: December 7-11, 2026
  • Location: XPS West, 2201 Yates Avenue, Commerce (LA area)
  • Investment: See the Eventbrite registration page for current ticket prices.

Why It’s Worth Your Time: This is the most complete course in the state. Over five days at the XPS West training facility, you cover concrete prep from cleaning and grinding to repairs, then install solid color, flake and quartz broadcast systems and metallic epoxy. You also learn polyaspartic topcoats and cove base, which a lot of shorter courses skip.

Breakfast and lunch are provided each day, and after the class you get 24/7 access to a product specialist for help with product picks, pricing and troubleshooting. If you are serious about running an epoxy business in Southern California, this is the one to look at.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Hands-on training gives you something online content can’t: real reps on real floors, with someone next to you when things go sideways. You learn to fix problems before they cost you a job, and you get to ask the questions that only come up when you are halfway through a metallic pour.

A few practical notes before you book:

  • Pick the format that fits where you are. E2U is a low-cost one-day intro. XPS is a full week of training. Sherwin-Williams is about getting certified on their product line.
  • Seats are limited, especially for manufacturer programs. If you have a date in mind, register early.
  • Beginners are welcome at all of these. You don’t need prior experience.
  • We update this page as new California courses are announced, so check back before you plan your next one.
